Our Tuesday Look of the Day in college basketball unfortunately fell short, bringing us to 1-1 to start the week. We're switching over to the NBA for our favorite bet of Wednesday's loaded slate.
Chris Paul's return to the court couldn't have come at a better time for the Golden State Warriors, as the veteran point guard has been able to fill in for the injured Stephen Curry. In two starts with Curry sidelined, Paul is averaging 14.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. He created a combined 32 potential assists in those two games, which is the sixth-highest mark in the NBA over that span.
Paul played 33 minutes Monday night against the San Antonio Spurs and attempted a season-high 19 shots, leading to his best offensive performance since his return. The 38-year-old is starting to gain more confidence in his temporary role as Golden State's main playmaker. He should have plenty of chances to rack up points and assists against the Dallas Mavericks in a game with a hefty total of 233.
Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are both below-average defenders Paul will look to attack. In his lone start against the Mavs earlier this season, Paul scored a season-high 24 points on 9-14 shooting and dished out six assists. We're expecting a similar performance Wednesday night.
