Javonte Williams Shocking Status For Broncos Vs. Chiefs Week 6 Matchup Confirmed
Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Denver Broncos running back Javonte Willams has been cleared by the team to start in the Thursday Night Football matchup against their AFC West foes the Kansas City Chiefs. He became a full participant in practice this week after missing last week’s loss against the New York Jets due to a quad injury. This news comes from NFL insider Tom Pelissero via Twitter.

Javonte Williams Injury

The Denver running back suffered his injury in the week four win against the Chicago Bears. He was listed as limited in practice following this week when he finally became a full participant. Head coach Sean Payton weighed in on the situation saying that the team would see how he progresses this week in practice and that they will decide based on that.

The injury did not seem too serious as Sean Payton made this comment about whether the running back could have played last week:

“Look, had that been a playoff game or we felt like we had to have him, I think that he could’ve gone. But the risk of possibly having a setback, and we just felt like that was too much.”

Jumpstart That Denver Needed?

In the 2023 season, Williams has amounted to 138 rushing yards and eleven receptions. He has only played through a few full games this season which has limited his production. This struggling Denver offense could use him in their rushing attack as they have looked pretty one-dimensional so far without him.

He will try to give everything he’s got in this Thursday’s matchup against the Chiefs to prevent the Broncos from dropping to 1-5 on the young season. He will look to bring the spark back in the offense and help out fantasy owners who have been hoping for him to come back sooner rather than later.
