Lions sign veteran defensive tackle with ties to Lions new defensive line coach Terrell Williams
Christopher Hanewinckel-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions made two signings on Tuesday. They brought back special team's ace C.J. Moore after he was reinstated by the league following his gambling suspension. The second signing is to help out with the Lions defensive line. Klye Peko will be joining the Lions per the team.

Peko is an undrafted defensive tackle that has been in the NFL since 2016. He's spent time with the Colts, Raiders, Broncos, Bills and Titans. The last one is the notable one. He spent two seasons with new Lions defensive line coach Terrell Williams.

In 2021 he played in eight games and stated three for the Titans. he got both of his career sacks in that season. After spending the 2022 season with the Raiders, the Titans brought him back again in 2023 and he played 13 games and started 10 of them.

The Lions could use some more depth behind DJ Reader and Alim McNeill and here is another veteran that can help bring along Brodric Martin and rookie Mehki Wingo.

In total, Peko has played 42 regular season games and has 13 starts. All of which came with Williams. We'll see what he's able to do during training camp. This is the first player the Lions have signed that has ties to Williams.
