Juventus see Wolfsburg and Sporting CP defenders as potential Bremer replacements – report

Juventus could set their sights on Wolfsburg centre-back Maxence Lacroix or 20-year-old Sporting CP defender Ousmane Diomande if Gleison Bremer leaves the Old Lady for Manchester United this summer according to recent reports in Italy.

Juventus could allow Bremer to leave during the summer transfer window if suitable offers arrive.

It is believed that the Bianconeri will consider offers this summer around the same sum as Bremer’s release clause, which will become active in 2025, and stands at a figure around €65m-€70m.

Manchester United are reportedly the current frontrunners to land Bremer this summer, which could allow Juventus to reinvest in slightly younger and potentially cheaper options.

Juventus interest in Lacroix and Diomande

According to Calciomercato.com, Juventus have joined the race to sign 23-year-old Lacroix from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg. Serie A rivals Milan are also thought to be interested in the former France youth international.

Lacroix has featured in 23 of Wolfsburg’s 27 league matches in 2023-24, missing out on just one of the games he was available for. The other three absences have been through suspensions.

Monday’s report suggests that Lacroix is prepared to make a ‘step-up’ to a bigger team this summer.

Diomande is also a potential option for Juventus according to Calciomercato, although Juve will likely face competition from a number of sides across Europe, including some in the Premier League.

Both Lacroix and Diomande are expected to cost Juventus somewhere in the region of €40m.

Atletico Madrid centre-back Mario Hermoso has also been touted as a potential target for Juventus as he is due to be out of contract in the summer. Juventus have reportedly made an inquiry, but have not yet had any sort of breakthrough. Aston Villa are also interested in the Spaniard.
